Starting at 8.45am and completing by 4pm.

This course is designed to provide new entrants to the commercial fishing industry the knowledge and skills required to work safely on board a commercial fishing vessel.

Completing the Seafish Basic Health and Safety course is a legal requirement for everyone before working on a commercial fishing vessel.

The course covers basic health and safety practices,  provides an overview of the language used in the industry, individual roles and responsibilities, the risks involved with of the job, safety equipment, accident prevention  and which skills are required to operate safely on board.

Successful candidates are awarded the Seafish Authority Basic Health and Safety Certificate.
